“I am reborn and guided”
“Baby Robin” is a deeply personal piece born from a moment of transformation. In April 2024, I was admitted to the hospital to begin detoxing from a relapse with alcohol. In my hospital bed, I prayed to the Universe for a change. It was a difficult but defining turning point, and the last time I drank. Shortly after, I found a fledgling robin and took it under my care. In its fragility, I saw a reflection of my own rebirth. That tiny bird sparked something within me, hope, purpose, and a sense of spiritual connection I hadn’t felt in a long time.
Robins are rich in symbolism, often seen as messengers from the spirit world; they bring comfort, guidance, and the promise of renewal. They mark the end of one season and the beginning of another. Though I didn’t know it at the time, the robin’s presence felt sacred, and a year into sobriety, I created this piece to honour it.
 
The warm, earthy palette draws inspiration from Tiger’s Eye, a crystal known for its grounding energy and protective strength. Just as the stone embodies courage and clarity, so too does this image: a portrait of healing, spiritual awakening, and the tender power of new beginnings.
